Prayer Team Members,

Wow, May was a busy month! We visited churches each weekend of the month. We are praising the Lord for the many people who joined our team during these visits. May’s travels took us to Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, and two churches in Illinois. God continues to show Himself faithful in our lives and ministry. Here are some praises and prayer requests; we covet your prayers for our ministry and us.

•    Discipleship Opportunity – We have mentioned previously the salvation of Tom, Brooke’s boss. I have begun meeting with Tom for discipleship. He is eager to learn and grow. It is neat to see him work through the ramifications of his new faith. Pray that he will continue to grow.
•    Support Status – We are now 85% supported! Praise the Lord for continued increases in our support. We feel confident that God will bring us close to 90% in the next few weeks. Pray that our support will quickly reach 100%.
•    Mission Teams – Next Monday (June 8th) 26 teens and adults will be joining us for a week of ministry. This group will be conducting servant evangelism projects and doing surveys on our behalf. Pray that our church will begin to have a wonderful testimony in the community, even before it exists. Pray that many contacts will be made for the gospel and for our launch team. Pray that we will see at least one salvation decision. We will post schedules for the week on our website (http://www.scottandbrooke.info).
•    Recent Community Contacts – We have made several contacts recently in the community. Pray that we will be able to continue to develop these relationships. Pray that we will have chances to share the gospel. Pray that we will find people searching for a church home.
•    Wisdom – There is so much work that goes into planting a church. Pray that we will have wisdom in our scheduling, decisions, and timing. Pray that God would work in and through us.
•    Team Members/Partnerships – We are developing our on-site team and praising the Lord for new prospects. Pray that God would bring us the right people. Pray that we can continue to develop partnerships with sister churches in the Chicagoland area. Pray that we can be an encouragement to other churches.

Pastor Dwight LaPine has invited Brooke and me to present our ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in Rochester, MN. We will be ministering at this church on October 25, 2009. We are thankful for Pastor LaPine and his interest in our ministry and lives.

We will be presenting our ministry at Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church in Centerville, IA on Sunday, October 11, 2009. We are excited to be able to present our ministry at another church in Iowa. We’ll trust God that He will raise up team members from this church.

We will be spending the July 4th weekend in Silvis, IL with the people of Silvis Heights Baptist Church. Pastor Greg Javaux has invited us to preach and present our ministry to his people. We are thrilled at the prospect of gaining more team members from our regional fellowship.

We will be presenting our ministry at Fox Valley Baptist Church in Dundee, IL on May 17, 2009. Pastor Phil Zilinski has invited us to share our ministry to the adult Sunday School classes. I will be returning to Fox Valley Baptist Church in June to fill the pulpit for Phil. We’re thankful for partners in ministry that have the same goal of reaching Chicagoland for Christ.

Pastor Rob Lemon invited us to preach and present our ministry at Calvary Baptist Church in Highland, IN. We will be ministering at this church on May 10, 2009. We are, as always, excited to present our ministry and anxious to see who good has to be a part of our team from this church.

We will be presenting our ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Naperville, IL on Sunday, July 26, 2009. Emmanuel Baptist Church is pastored by Dale Williams. We are excited to have this opportunity to visit one of our sister churches in Chicagoland.

Pastor David King has invited Brooke and me to present our ministry at his church, Fellowship Baptist Church of Jasper Indiana, following the GARBC annual conference. Dave and I have gotten to know each other a bit through the Young Baptist initiative of the GARBC. We are looking forward to this time to build on our friendship and gain more team members for our church planting endeavors.

On Sunday May 3, 2009 we will be returning to Walnut Ridge Baptist Church to present our ministry again. We have already visited once with the people there earlier this year. We return to further investigate the possibility of partnering in ministry with their church.

On Sunday March 15, 2009 we will be presenting our ministry at Riverside Baptist Church in Decatur, IL. We are excited about this opportunity to once again communicate our passion for the Chicago area. We trust that in one manner or another we will gain some new team members from this church. Join us praying to that end!
